2023 NBA Championship Odds
Favorites to Win 2023 NBA Championship
We are about coming up on the halfway point to the 2022-23 NBA season and the Brooklyn Nets are the current favorites to win the championship. They have odds at +260 behind the stellar play of Kevin Durant and James Harden. Those odds could skyrocket if Kyrie Irving gets back on the court as well. The Golden State Warriors are right behind them at +600. The Warriors have the best record in the league right now with Steph Curry being the leading candidate for MVP. They are also still without Klay Thompson.
The Los Angeles Lakers (+800) and the Milwaukee Bucks (+700) are both towards the top of the list as well. Los Angeles has struggled but they do still have LeBron James on their roster. You also can’t count out the Bucks as they are the reigning champions for a reason.
Coming into some of the longshots now, we have the Miami Heat at +1200 and the Utah Jazz at +1300. Each team has tremendous talent and chemistry but lack that superstar punch that a lot of these other teams have nowadays.
Finally, we have other teams like the Chicago Bulls at +3000 and the Denver Nuggets at +2500. They are each in the middle of the pack when it comes to the current odds but they have incredible talent. Chicago is a very fun team to watch they just have to work on some chemistry. Then the Nuggets are still waiting on Jamal Murray to return from his ACL injury.
2021 Rookie of the Year Odds
We have a three-way tie for the Rookie of the Year award right now. Scottie Barnes, Evan Mobley and Cade Cunningham are all sitting at +250 odds to win the award this far into the NBA season. Barnes has played 35 minutes per game this season and made the most of it. Mobley is averaging 14.4 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 assists per game and Cunningham was the number one overall selection in the recent draft.
Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green is at +700 odds, the closest rookie to that tie at the top. Green was entering the league as a professional, having played in the G-League for a year before declaring for the draft.
Other players that could get themselves higher up on this list are Jalen Suggs (+3500), Chris Duarte (+4000), and Davion Mitchell (+7000).
Suggs is a true leader at point guard, but his shooting efficiency hasn’t been where we all had hoped entering the season. Duarte has been phenomenal for the Indiana Pacers; the problem is that he is just getting overlooked. Mitchell is a winner; he just didn’t get much opportunity on the court with Luke Walton as their head coach. Now that Walton is gone, Mitchell could see the floor more.
2021 NBA MVP Award Odds
It’s hard to imagine anybody else being in the lead for this award outside of Steph Curry. Curry has +180 odds to win the MVP trophy by the end of the season. He has gotten the Warriors out to an 18-2 overall record and is averaging 28.2 points per game, the most in the league.
Kevin Durant is right behind him with +500 odds. Durant may not have the best record in the league but his shooting percentages are out of this world. His efficiency alone gets him towards the top of the list, on top of his 28.1 points per game.
The Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo could also grab the third MVP award of his young career this season. Antetokounmpo may be a little bit worse of a bet than his +750 odds tell you, but he is averaging 27.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per contest. He is third in points and fifth in rebounds in the league. Giannis also happens to be the only player in the association who has averaged over 20 points, ten rebounds, five assists and a block in each match.
Finally, we have to include LeBron James. James is sitting at +5500 odds and is pretty far down the list admittedly. However, he has played excellent basketball since returning from an injury that held him out for a bit of time. He has some way to go, but if he can keep this up and get the Lakers to a top seed, he may get the hardware.
